Climb Snowdon on a Snowdon Guided Walk. At 1085m Snowdon, or Yr Wydffa as it is known in Welsh, is the tallest mountain in England and Wales. On a fine day it is possible to see the Isle of Man and Ireland from the summit. Your ascent will be lead by a fully qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, who will guide you up either the PYG or the Miners track from Pen y Pass. If you wish to complete a more challenging route or would like to have a go at the Snowdon Horseshoe then contact me and we can arrange a private guided day. Most people find the day challenging but hugely rewarding and also a great way to meet like minded people.
Please read all the information provided for you below about your guided walk. if you have any further questions or wish to make a booking then please email me at rory@snowdoniamountaineering.com |
Guided Walk Dates: April: Saturday 10th May: Sunday 30th June: Saturday 5th July: Sunday 25th August: Sunday 15th September: Sunday 5th
Prices £50 per person. I offer discount on this price for large groups or family bookings. |

Where and when do we meet? Meet at Pen y Pass car park at 10am. The car park will be full well before this so park your car in Llanberis and get a return ticket on the Sherpa Bus to Pen y Pass. What experience do I need? No previous mountain experience is required. What kit do I need? Having the suitable gear is essential - check out the kit list below. Who can join a guided walk? Anyone can join a guided walk, however under 18's must be accompanied by a parent. Am I fit enough? The climb up Snowdon normally takes 5 to 7 hours and includes some steep uphill sections on a rocky path. Having sufficient will power is more important than fitness for most people! What happens if the weather is bad? I will not cancel a walk because of bad weather - provided you have the right equipment it is possible to make the ascent in wet and windy conditions. If the weather is dangerous then an alternative walk will be undertaken.
Kit List: Walking boots or approach shoes (no trainers), waterproof jacket and trousers, hat and gloves (needed all year), food and plenty of water, a warm fleece and an extra spare warm layer, camera, personal medication, a rucksack to put it all in, sunhat, sunglasses and sun cream, walking trousers or tracksuit bottoms - not jeans, a thermal base layer or similar. If you need more advice then just drop me an email. |
